Statement from Harris Kern/Vice-President of Operations for Café con Leche Books
“After working closely with top mainstream publishers for more than two decades, I became totally disenchanted with all the bureaucracy, undisciplined mode of operation, and overall nonchalant attitude that sadly enough has become the norm in this industry today. I’ve always lived my life with a sense of urgency. On the flipside of the coin, most publishers today operate in the complete opposite way. My association with Koehler Books has been such a breath of fresh air. I can honestly say it has completely restored my faith that a publisher can operate with a sense of urgency and treat both emerging and established authors like they truly deserve to be treated—like human beings who have something important to say.
I decided to start Café con Leche Books with my distinguished colleague Leticia Gomez to change the way publishers treat potential authors. We at Café con Leche will work tirelessly for our authors with the end goal of providing top-notch publishing services at a fraction of the time currently being served in the publishing business today, while holding ourselves accountable to a higher level of quality deliverables.”
